History buffs, walkers and nature enthusiasts will love exploring Brean Down Fort, a historical site located on the headland of Brean Down. The fort was built in the 1860s as part of the Palmerston Forts, a series of coastal defences to protect the ports of Bristol and Cardiff from possible French invasion.
