This time last year I was off to beautiful Tobago, where one of the most magical sights are the beautiful hummingbirds which can be seen around the island.
It is worth packing binoculars as well as bikinis for a trip to Tobago. There are over 230 species of birds from majestic frigate birds and pelicans which swoop impressively into the sea to six different kinds of these tiny jewel-coloured hummingbirds. You can see mot mots and tanagers in the rainforest, but a trip to the Adventure Farm & Nature Reserve in Arnos Vale near Plymouth ensures you have an expert on hand to identify not just birds but butterflies and iguanas.
