While exploring the beautiful Cognac region of France, Judith and Jane stopped off at the atmospheric No 3 The Chateau.
Lovingly restored by British couple Jules and Brad, the former distillery (built around 1805) is a fairy-tale property available for weddings and other grand events.
With six suites including two tower suites, the chateau has beautiful period furnishings including swimming pool sized claw footed baths and has panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. There is a cinema, wine cellar, pergola and converted barn for a magical wedding reception.
Grounds have a spectacular swimming pool with a bathing ledge and loungers alongside an arched barn with the original bread oven.
During the summer the Chateau hosts bread making sessions and in the winter gourmet dinners with a Michelin chef and sommelier for parties of up to 12 people.
